such as hotel and condo lodging, real estate,
fishing, boating, restaurants and bars provide the
backbone for the island's economic development. With
an educated labor force, a business friendly tax
structure, and comprehensive utilities, the island
is on the rise!
Each year the EDC
has prepared the
South Padre Island Economic Index. It
is a composite index that also includes an
Economic
Index Methodology with Economic Forecast.
