SECOND
PHASE OF PADRE BOULEVARD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT TO BEGIN
Halff Associates will commence with the
field survey phase of the Padre Boulevard Median & Improvement
Project the week of October 11, 2004. This phase will include
field control work and aerial photography for the development of
existing conditions and base map preparation for this much
needed project. Halff survey crews will be out along and
adjacent to Padre Boulevard to place control markers for the
panel points. These panel points are utilized by the aerial
photography pilot to determine the flight pattern and existing
topography.
The public should anticipate seeing crews
placing panel marker points which are made of 6-foot by 6-inchs
strips of white heavy plastic. In a very few cases painting of
the panels with white washable paint will be required. These
panel points will be large X’S placed in the roadways, and the
public’s assistance is being asked to help maintain these
panels. The flight should occur within a few days after the
panels have been set, and the panels will be picked up promptly
after the flight. Halff Associates anticipates a total of 13
panels to be place to complete the aerial photography.
In addition, Halff will be sending out
employees to commence developing an inventory of parking along
Padre Boulevard within the project limits of Haas Street &
Swordfish Streets. This phase, along with preparation of base
maps, should be completed with the next 10 weeks, weather
permitting.
