NOTICE of Tax Revenue Increase

The CITY OF SOUTH PADRE ISLAND conducted public hearings on August 25, 2010 and September 1, 2010 on a proposal to increase the total tax revenues of the CITY OF SOUTH PADRE ISLAND from properties on the tax roll in the preceding year by 0.659836 percent.

 

The total tax revenue raised last year at last year's tax rate of 0.245610 for each $100 of taxable value was $5,928,802.72.

 

The total tax revenue proposed to be raised this year at the proposed tax rate of 0.245610 for each $100 of taxable value, excluding tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year, is $5,977,934.77.

 

The total tax revenue proposed to be raised this year at the proposed tax rate of 0.245610 for each $100 of taxable value, including tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year, is $6,181,893.10.

 

The City South Padre island is scheduled to vote on the tax rate that will result in that tax increase at a public meeting to be held on September 9, 2010 at City of South Padre Island Municipal Complex (Joyce H. Adams Room), 4601 Padre Blvd, South Padre Island , TX 78597 at 4:00 PM

TxDOT to Perform Maintenance on Causeway
The Texas Department of Transportation will be performing maintenance on the Queen Isabella causeway connecting South Padre Island and Port Isabel. The project consists of re-painting the metal beams that support the highest point of the causeway.  Read more...
